A Wednesday in the life of an awesome wife. (Who rhymes without even trying.)
6:30 AM - Wake up to the sound of cat puking on bed. Cat proceeds to run throughout the house. Still puking. Consider returning to sleep since Baby is not yet awake. Remember that cat puke (especially when given time to set in) is not fun to clean while trying to care for a very mobile, very curious baby. Get up. Start cleaning.
7:15 - Baby awakens. He has part of the plastic crib rail protector in his bed. He has also taken off his sweatpants. When did this happen? Perhaps during his Midnight play session...?
Must've been one hell of a night.
8:30-9:30 - Go grocery shopping for the makings of what is sure to be a fabulous meal. The cashier sees us so often, she now asks, "What are you making tonight?"
10-12 - Baby sleeps. Amen. Prepare meal and place in fridge for later. Trip over little 'helpers' who insist on being close by. Shower!
12-12:10 - Sit. Put feet up.
12:15 - 1 - Enjoy lunch with the little darling.
Hello, 5th tooth. Are you the reason for our sleepless nights??
1-3 - Visit favorite neighbor for a chat. Play with Monkey. Wrestle him down for another nap. Hallelujah. Are you there, God? It's me, Carrie. Wanna be my new best friend?
3-5 - Blur of folding laundry, putting laundry away, cleaning bathrooms, de-cluttering.
5-6:00 - Attempt to get beautiful. Heat up old ass curling iron. Pretend to know how to use it. Apply make up (You remember how to do that, right?). Again, pretend to know what you're doing.
Oh, yeah. This must be done with Baby thoroughly and completely attached to your leg. Because he's now awake. And incapable of independent play.
6:00 - Realize you have very little in the way of fancy clothes. And that this fun, new hobby known as "Housewife Wednesday" will involve the rotation of approximately 3 outfits.
6:30-7 - Bask in compliments. Because dinner (roasted chicken, stuffing, and roasted vegetables) is actually good tonight.
Dessert: Chocolate chip banana bread
No, the day doesn't end at 7. But the pictures do. Because I'm so amazing, I even managed to pull of a same-day blog post.
Dedicated to my sweet William, who is truly the amazing one.
